Cowboys team list: Round 7 v Raiders

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Head Coach Todd Payten has named an unchanged 17 to take on the Canberra Raiders in Saturday night’s Defence Round clash at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

With Cowboys skipper Jason Taumalolo sidelined through a fractured hand, Lachlan Burr remains at lock after a terrific display in his first start for North Queensland in last weekend’s victory over the Bulldogs.

Justin O’Neill holds his spot at centre after a solid display in his return from concussion, partnering Round 6 man of the match Connelly Lemuelu.

Coen Hess has again been named at prop on the back of a barnstorming career-first appearance in the position.

A late call-up last weekend, Mitch Dunn remains on the interchange alongside Jake Granville, Francis Molo and Corey Jensen.

20-year-old forward Tom Gilbert makes his first appearance in Payten’s 21-man squad for 2021 after missing the opening weeks of the season with a broken leg. Gilbert has been named in the reserves alongside Esan Marsters, Jake Clifford and Peter Hola.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 7.35pm. Cowboys players will wear specially designed Defence Round jerseys, with the 17 player-signed, match-worn jerseys, to be auctioned and all proceeds going to the Cowboys Community Foundation.
