The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have received positive news on the injury front with both Braidon Burns and Sam McIntyre cleared of serious injury after failing to finish last weekend’s victory over the Dragons.
Burns has been named to face the Broncos in Friday’s XXXX Derby at Suncorp Stadium, although does remain in some doubt.
The 29-year-old was diagnosed with a minor ankle sprain and will need to complete Captain’s Run on Thursday to take his place against Brisbane.
Scans confirmed McIntrye suffered a torn plantar fascia and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.
Kai O’Donnell has been named to replace McIntyre in the second row after an impressive performance when thrust into action against the Dragons.
Friday’s XXXX Derby kicks off at 8pm.
