Our 20,000th member, Wayne Johnstone, helping us celebrate a milestone for the club!

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are celebrating their 20,000th member milestone for season 2018, saying thank you with a dedicated Members Appreciation Round this week, proudly sponsored by membership partner Shine Lawyers.

After reaching a club record of 22,278 members in 2017, the club is calling on fans to get behind their team and help the Cowboys in their ongoing contribution to the North Queensland community.

As well as enjoying great benefits and being part of the Cowboys family, members are supporting a diverse range of club and Cowboys Community Foundation programs that give back to the region and create positive social outcomes.

In recognising the milestone, Cowboys CEO Greg Tonner said member support is crucial to the club.

"To have 20,000 fans from around the region and beyond backing us makes us feel strong as a club," Mr Tonner said.

"This significant milestone is a statement for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys. The club is very proud of the support it gets from across North Queensland and from our members afar.

"We're a club that represents our region in our community work and I think 20,000 members validates what we're about and gives us that passion and desire to keep going.

"Thank you to all of our members, including those who have supported us since we started and those who are new to supporting us."

Ayr resident Wayne Johnstone was delighted to discover that his nine-year-old son Colby was the 20,000th member to sign up for 2018, with father and son joining as Home Star members to attend the Round 19 home game against the Dragons.

Mr Johnstone surprised Colby with the membership so the young Cowboys fan could watch his favourite team and player live.

"This was Colby's first NRL game and it was important for us to join as members for the whole experience," Mr Johnstone said.

"We don't get to games often, but the single-game membership worked for us and gave us the chance to see JT live before he retires, which was Colby's goal."

The club's Member Appreciation Round will be a week-long celebration of membership, leading into Cowboys v Knights at 1300SMILES Stadium on Friday 27 July, followed by the annual Members Carnival on Saturday.

With two of the biggest home games of the season in August, fans can still sign up as members and lock in their seats now for Cowboys v Broncos (Round 22) and Johnathan Thurston's final home game (Round 24) with a three-game or single-game membership.

Supporter memberships (non-ticketed) beginning at $45 are also still available.
