XXXX things you need to know: Round 10 v Titans

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys travel to the Gold Coast to take on the Titans on Sunday afternoon.

Veteran front-rower Jordan McLean has been ruled out of tomorrow’s clash, paving the way for new recruit Harrison Edwards to make his Cowboys debut. Edwards appeared in 17 NRL games for the Bulldogs before moving north to join the Cowboys in April. Tom Mikaele will make his first starting appearance for the Cowboys, replacing McLean in the front row.

After missing his first game since arriving in North Queensland, halfback Chad Townsend returns to the side to face the Titans. Townsend was ruled out of last weekend’s clash with a knee injury and was considered a 50-50 proposition for the Titans fixture, but has been declared a certain starter after completing Captain’s Run.

The Cowboys have enjoyed a run of recent success against the Titans, winning four of the previous five fixtures. The Cowboys hold a 20-12 lead in the overall head-to-head match-up. The two sides have already met this season, with Todd Payten’s men claiming a 35-22 victory in Round 5.

Valentine Holmes has dropped to third on the point-scoring table, with 82 in nine games. Chad Townsend leads the NRL with three field goals and sits fourth with eight try assists. Scott Drinkwater ranks third with nine try assists, third for offloads with 17 and leads the competition with 12 line break assists. Reece Robson sits fourth with 368 tackles.
