2019 player review: Corey Jensen

While his appearances in the top grade may have been limited, Corey Jensen was again one of the most feared front-rowers in the Queensland Cup in 2019.

The 25-year-old was rewarded for a stellar run of form for the Townsville Blackhawks with a starting spot in the front row in the Queensland Residents side for their clash against NSW in May.

2019 season highlights - Corey Jensen

In 17 games for the Blackhawks, Jensen averaged in excess of 150 running metres and 20 tackles a game and formed an outstanding combination with fellow Cowboys-contacted rising star Tom Gilbert.

Jensen managed six games in the top grade throughout the season with his best performance coming in Round 5 against Melbourne. The Bowen Seagulls junior ran for 72 metres and chipped in 16 tackles in just 26 minutes.

Jensen signed a two-year contract extension in September which runs through the 2021 season
