Season review: Emry Pere

Still eligible for the under 20s, hulking young prop Emry Pere spent the entire season in the Queensland Cup for Cowboys feeder side the Northern Pride.

Pere played in all 24 games in a successful season for the Pride, providing significant impact off the bench for coach Ty Williams.

The 20-year-old produced a number of memorable performances, highlighted by a 117-metre, five tackle break effort against Tweed Heads in Round 24.

Pere was rewarded for his stellar season with a starting front-row berth for the Junior Kiwis in their end of season clash with the Junior Kangaroos at Mt Smart Stadium.

The Taniwharau junior will move into the Cowboys top 30 in 2019 and could push for an NRL debut with a strong start to the season.

2018 stats (Queensland Cup):

Games: 24
Tries: 1
Tackle breaks: 46
Average runs: 8
Average run metres: 74
Average tackles: 19
