Goldthorp takes our NRLW Cowboy of the Year

English International Fran Goldthorp has been named the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ NRLW Player of the Year tonight.

Goldthorp’s win breaks a two-year run by second-rower Bree Chester, who claimed the award in 2024 and 2025.

The 23-year-old compiled a phenomenal 2026 season after returning to fullback.

Goldthorp registered the third-most runs in the NRLW with 192 in 11 games, while also finishing sixth in the competition with 1627 running metres.

Goldthorp averaged a huge 147 running metres a game and crossed for four tries.
