The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys have agreed to a one-year contract extension with dummy-half Soni Luke for the 2027 NRL season.
Luke joined the Cowboys in January after securing a release from a pre-season deal with South Sydney.
The Tongan International came through the Penrith Panthers system and made his NRL debut in 2022.
He would appear in 26 games for the Panthers before moving to Souths and then North Queensland in the 2026 pre-season.
Luke has registered eight games for the Cowboys this season, scoring two tries, including a crucial four-pointer in a brilliant performance in the XXXX Derby victory over the Broncos.
“We couldn’t be more impressed with Soni since he arrived in North Queensland,” Cowboys Recruitment and List Manager Clint Zammit said.
“He was on a train and trial deal at South Sydney when we identified him as an option to add to our dummy-half depth and he has quickly become an important part of our squad.
“His running game out of dummy-half provides a real point of difference for our attack and away from the field his leadership is exceptional.”
