Five key stats from the Cowboys win over the Panthers

We take a look at five key stats to come out of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys 27-23 win over the Penrith Panthers on Friday night.

The number of tackle breaks by fullback Scott Drinkwater in Friday night’s win. The 26-year-old added 200 running metres and two tries, including the match-winner in the 89th minute.

The number of metres Jason Taumalolo made on the run that set up the match-winning try, while included three tackle breaks. In his first game back since Round 7, Taumalolo played 56 minutes off the bench, running for a season-high 203 metres.

The career-high number of tackles by hooker Jake Granville. In his first game starting in the No.9 jersey since 2020, Granville set up a try and punched out 89 minutes at 34 years old.

The number of consecutive times the Penrith Panthers had gone on to win when leading at half-time. Despite the record, which began in 2020, the Cowboys scored three unanswered tries in the second half and extra time to win it in the 89th minute.

The career-high number of running metres by winger Kyle Feldt. Returning to the starting side, the 31-year-old scored the match-tying try, while adding two line breaks, four tackle breaks and a mammoth 86 post-contact metres.
