North Queensland Toyota Cowboys members have been invited to name a bay at Queensland Country Bank Stadium for home games.

Cowboys Chief Executive Officer Jeff Reibel said the naming of a members bay marked a unique and important milestone in the Cowboy’s legacy as a community-owned club.

“In 2023 we’ve introduced the ‘Fanatics Bay’ membership for full season members who believe they ‘bleed blue and grey’ for this great club,” Mr Reibel said.

“In the inaugural year of this very special membership, Fanatics Bay members have been invited to  provide suggestions for the name of bay 117 in the Northern Grandstand so it can become their hallowed home at our games,” he said.

“Opportunities like this are rare in the National Rugby League, particularly for established clubs like ours, but our move to Queensland Country Bank Stadium in 2020 has provided us with a unique opportunity for our members to make a lasting mark.”

“We’re keen to see the space become a hub for the loudest, proudest and most ‘out-there’ Cowboys members at home games for generations to come.”

Following a call for members suggestions, the name of the Fanatics Bay will be announced at the Cowboys first home game of 2023 on 4 March against the Canberra Raiders.

To celebrate the name being chosen, Fanatics Bay members will be given large ‘bleed blue and grey’ flags to fly high during home games, as well as exclusive access to competitions and events such as the chance to participate in a lap of honour on the field in 2023.

While the name will not be formally adopted by the operator of the Queensland Country Bank Stadium as an official facility name, it will be used to refer to the bay at all Cowboys home games in 2023.

A limited number of Fanatics Bay full season memberships are available for $271 for adults, $226 concession, $172 children and $688 family at www.cowboys.com.au/fanatics. Existing members may also upgrade.

To take part in the naming of the bay, members must apply for 2023 Fanatics Bay membership by 20 February 2023.
