We continue our series looking at some of our former North Queensland Toyota Cowboys under 20s players about their time at the club and what they are doing for work now.

We speak to second-rower Cody Maughan and hooker Nathan Norford.

Cody Maughan

Years in Cowboys NYC system: 2015-17

What were you doing for work/study during your NYC days: I was working full time at Global Fasteners, a nuts and bolts shop, with Jack Glossop and Jake Clifford

Favourite memory with the club: Making my NYC debut against the Warriors in New Zealand

What are you doing now: I am now working in the Queensland Police Force. I did my first year in Ingham last year and in October, I moved to Brisbane and now I’m at Southbank Station. Last month I was named in the Queensland Police Rugby League side that will play New South Wales on the Gold Coast in July.

Nathan Norford

Years in Cowboys NYC system: 2010-12

What were you doing for work/study during your NYC days: I was studying education at university and doing some labouring work part-time.

Favourite memory with the club: It would have to be the 2011 Grand Final and getting to play with some of those quality footballers that have obviously gone on to do great things since.

What are you doing now: I’ve got a young family now and am playing a bit of local A-Grade with Brothers, while teaching and being head coach of the Kirwan State High's senior boys side. I’ve also jumped into the pathways with the under 16s at the Blackhawks as well.
