Lazying around at Magic Round

Cowboys member Roslyn was ‘lost for words’ when she learned she'd be flying to Brisbane for Magic Round with a friend, thanks to Bundaberg Rum.

As the lucky winner of the Cowboys competition, Roslyn won a double pass to the Lazy Bear Bay at Suncorp Stadium for the NRL Brisbane Magic Round, one night’s accommodation and return flights.

“What luck for my husband Paul and I, to win the coolest package and be able to follow our boys to support them in Brisbane," Roslyn said.

"We were the envy of everyone we told.”

Roslyn won the competition by referring a friend to join the Cowboys with a membership and decided to take her husband to see the Cowboys v Rabbitoh’s on Mother’s Day.

She said it was an easy choice when deciding who to take on the trip.

“I called my husband up and asked, ‘so do you think you can get Monday off at your new job?’ and he asked why."

“So, when I told him my unbelievable news his response was ‘I will make it happen!’”

Roslyn became a Cowboys supporter when she moved to Townsville 10 years ago, and Paul decided to switch teams to the North Queensland side in 2016.

The Townsville locals joined a sea of other Cowboys supporters in Brisbane.

“We were so pleased to see the amount of Cowboys jerseys at the stadium, and even walking down Queen Street Mall to the sound of people calling out ‘go the Cowboys!”

“It's good to see such support so far from home.”

As part of their prize package, Roslyn and Paul watched the game from the Lazy Bear Bay, which included hammock seats, food and beverage service and a Lazy Bear merch pack.

“After spending so many hours on our feet, getting to the Lazy Bear Bay and sinking into hammocks was just pure bliss.”

Roslyn is a Diamond Star member with tickets to 12 home games, which she says gets her "great seats, atmosphere, team info and updates - we just love supporting our home team!”

Thanks Roslyn for sharing your story with us!
