Six North Queensland Toyota Cowboys-affiliated youngsters have been named in the Townsville Blackhawks side for their Hastings Deering Colts grand final showdown with Norths Devils on Sunday.
The under 20s Blackhawks, coached by incoming Cowboys assistant David Tangata-Toa, advanced to the decider courtesy of thrilling 26-22 comeback victory over fellow Cowboys feeder club the Northern Pride last weekend.
Exciting forward Ben Condon has forced his way into the starting side after a powerhouse performance against the Pride.
Starting from the interchange, Condon ran for a mammoth 192 metres in just 50 minutes and also chipped in seven tackle breaks, three offloads and 17 tackles.
Condon will start in the second row against the Devils, joining props Jayden Stephens and Logan Bayliss and hooker Sean Mullany in a fearsome forward pack.
Bayliss ran for 102 metres from 10 carries in the grand final qualifier, while front-row partner Stephens ran for 77 and registered 14 tackles.
Workhorse dummy-half Mullany made 23 tackles in his 45 minutes on the field.
Goal-kicking halfback Adam Cook and interchange forward Nathan Barrett round out the Cowboys brigade.
Sunday's game kicks off at 1pm at Suncorp Stadium.
