Leading the charge at NRL Cowboys House

The brothers at NRL Cowboys House formed 151 ACU Cowboys House in May this year under the community-based youth development organisation Australian Army Cadets.

Since forming the cadet unit the boys have been attending cadets on a monthly basis, participating in activities to develop their leadership, team building and survival skills.

While participating, Cadet and House staff have been identifying leadership qualities in all of the House Brothers.

During a recent camouflage and concealment lesson, 2 RAR snipers identified boys they thought demonstrated leadership qualities and potential for promotion.

This led to an exciting presentation at the House yesterday, with the Brigadier announcing the first round of promotions to Lance Corporal.

The five newly promoted Lance Corporals - Rashaan, Kium, Hakeem, Gary, and Colin - were chosen for promotion as they demonstrated good leadership qualities, showed initiative and a positive attitude.

They will now lead 10 other boys in a section and will be responsible for ensuring they are dressed correctly, are timely and are ready for each task during cadet activities.

Congratulations to the newly promoted Lance Corporals of 151 ACU Cowboys House!

Everyone involved in 151 ACU Cowboys House is very proud of the achievements of these boys!
