Amanda's member moment

Amanda Rattin's cow-hide hat atop a bright blue wig stood out in a sea of a blue and yellow at the Cowboys v Eels game on Friday night.

Amanda and her friend Joanne flew from Brisbane to Townsville to see the Cowboys play in Round 24, and celebrated the occasion dressed in Cowboys colours and themed gear from head to toe.

Since becoming a Distant Star member of the Cowboys Amanda has travelled to see the Cowboys play in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

"I love being a Cowboys member, I wear my colours with pride as the club has such a great reputation and fantastic community spirit," Amanda said.

Amanda first chose blue-and-yellow in 2005 when JT joined the club.

"I decided to follow the cowboys when JT joined - I've loved him since he gave the ring to Steve Price in 2004 grand final," she said.

A former Brisbane Broncos supporter, Amanda and is now on a mission to convert those around her to become followers of the Cowboys.

She lives with her sister, brother-in-law and niece, who are Manly supporters.

"I am doing my best to convert them, the Cowboys are their second favourite team," Amanda said.

"My friend Joanne was a Storm fan, I have truly converted her," Amanda said.

Amanda shared that her highlight of three years of membership was meeting the team at the Cowboys Leagues Club in 2016.

She says, "I even met JT! He wished me happy birthday and I was speechless... I couldn't get one word out!"

Amanda will be at the Cowboys v Titans game on Saturday 1 September.

"The two and a half-hour train trip will be well and truly worth seeing JT play his final game!"
