Welcome home surprise for Jayne

After spending over 27 years away from her hometown of Townsville, Jayne Wharton recently returned to care for her 92-year-old mother Betty, and received a pleasant surprise at the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys' Community Day – winning a 2018 full-season family membership!

Jayne is grateful for the chance to attend all home games this season with her Cowboys-mad mum, and now can’t wait for her beloved team to take to the field in Round 1.

“Being an old local I have always supported the Cowboys from Brisbane,” Jayne said.

“I was always home for games supporting mum ... cheering in the lounge room, [but] on receiving the good news about my win I was very excited, especially to take my mum to the games!”

A casual community carer, Jayne was helping one of her clients when she made the trip to Community Day to talk to the membership team.

“After getting her [client] breakfast, I said I’d go to check her membership and parking pass! After years of missing these days I thought I’d go and see the guys, and that’s when I entered the competition hoping to win it for my mum and two older brothers," Jayne said.

“I look forward to going to the games – we know the Cowboys will win this year and I’m looking forward to cheering them on!”
