Former North Queensland Toyota Cowboys player (and now club HR manager) Micheal Luck took the narrator's seat for the Thuringowa Library's instalment of National Simultaneous Storytime last week.

National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association.

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

The 2017 NSS storybook is The Cow Tripped over the Moon, written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood.

The annual advocacy campaign by the Australian Library and Information Association aims to promote the value of reading and literacy to children aged 2 to 6 years, and encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.

2017 marks the 17th year of the event, and it was again supported by the Cowboys as part of the NRL's 'Respect, Learn, Health' initiative.
