The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are saddened by the passing of our friend and club partner Mike Carney.
Mike has been part of the Cowboys family since day one, first under the Mike Carney Toyota banner, and then as a key member of the North Queensland Toyota Dealers group.
He was a pivotal figure in getting the NQ dealers together, culminating in Toyota and the North Queensland Toyota Dealers coming on board as Principal Sponsor of the club in 2003.
Mike also continued to support the club through his Lexus of Townsville partnership.
"Mike was not one for the limelight and preferred to stay in the background but that did not take away from the important contribution and positive effect he had on our club, Townsville and North Queensland," Cowboys CEO Greg Tonner said.
"Our thoughts are with Mike's family and friends at this time."
The Cowboys will recognise Mike and his contribution to the club at this Friday night's home game.
