North Queensland Toyota Cowboys centre Kane Linnett has been ruled out of Friday's National Rugby League knockout semi-final against old foes Brisbane.

Linnett injured his hamstring in last Saturday night's qualifying final against the Storm.

Javid Bowen has been named in the centres, the 23-year-old to line up for his ninth NRL match after making his debut against the Dragons in Round 5.

Friday’s game at 1300SMILES Stadium kicks off at 7.55pm with the winner advancing to a preliminary final against the Sharks.
