North Queensland Toyota Cowboys under-20s coach Aaron Payne will welcome back two key players into his team for the Round 26 National Youth Competition match against the Gold Coast Titans at 1300SMILES Stadium on Saturday.

Hooker Brandon Smith (ankle injury) and winger Gideon Gela-Mosby (groin) were late withdrawals from Payne’s team to play the Bulldogs in Round 25, but both have been cleared to play on Saturday, pending the pair getting through all team training sessions this week.

Smith will resume his usual role in the No.9 jersey following a standout display in his stead by usual prop Ross Bella as the young Cowboys defeated the Bulldogs 32-14 to shore up a place in the NYC top two.

Gela-Mosby has been troubled by a groin injury for the last third of the season, but should be right to face the Titans, who are out of the finals race in 12th place on the NYC ladder with just one game remaining.

Nathan Traill – who scored a brace against the Bulldogs – moves back to the bench, with Payne selecting an extended squad this weekend pending the final fitness of Smith and Gela-Mosby.

The young Cowboys are hunting a third straight win on Saturday and will be looking to sharpen their game heading into a potential week-one finals clash against the Dragons.
