TWELVE of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ 18-man Telstra Premiership-winning squad capped-off a 12-hour trip yesterday, visiting excited members and supporters in Cairns.

The team drove through Cairns on the top of a double-decker bus as supporters gathered along the route to cheer on their favourite players.

Over 7,000 Cowboys fans packed into Barlow Park, at one stage singing along with co-captain Johnathan Thurston to We Are The Champions.

“What a fantastic turnout,” Cowboys CEO Greg Tonner said.

“Thank you to everyone in Cairns who came to cheer us on.”
