Charters Towers lad Shaun Knuth had a night at the footy to remember when the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys hosted the South Sydney Rabbitohs at 1300SMILES Stadium for their round 23 National Rugby League match.

Accompanied by grandmother Patricia Pollock, Shaun, 12, was special guest of the club for the game after Mrs Pollock was the winner of the Toyota Coach for a Day competition. Having bought a brand-new Toyota Prado from Charters Towers Toyota a month ago, Mrs Pollock went into the draw for the prize, which included:

  • Two corporate tickets (including food and beverages) to the Cowboys-Rabbitohs match;
  • A Cowboys pack including football, cap and backpack;
  • 2015 Auckland Nines signed jersey;
  • An accompanied tour of Cowboys HQ.

Mrs Pollock said Shaun - who lives with parents Michael Knuth and Jodie Pollock and sister Hannah, 7, on Victoria Downs cattle station 70km south of Charters Towers – said her grandson loved his footy and was thrilled to be able to experience a special night out at the footy.

“His favourite player is Scott Bolton and he was looking out for him all night,” she said.

“He is attending boarding school next year so it’ll be a brave person who will try to get that backpack off his shoulder or his hat off his head.

“He is thrilled with the gifts he received and to tour the Cowboys’ gym was a real eye-opener and an experience he will never forget.”

The tour of the facilities was part of the club’s Money Can’t Buy Experience offering and is part of the great support the club receives from Toyota and the North Queensland Toyota Dealers.
