Two Toyota Cowboys are a step close to selection for the Junior Kangaroos for the upcoming Junior Test (Under 20s) against New Zealand.

Front-rower Patrick Kaufusi and hooker Josh Chudleigh, who both played their final NYC matches for North Queensland at the weekend, were today named in the train-on squad for the one-off match on Saturday 18 October at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland.

Kaufusi has previously gained representative honours at Junior Origin level for Queensland, while Chudleigh zoomed into contention with an outstanding first season with the Cowboys this year after joining from the Canberra A-grade competition.

They will both be part of the Cowboys’ NRL squad in 2015.

Each week, players will be added to the Junior Kangaroos train-on squad as teams are eliminated from the NYC finals series.

A final squad will be announced following the NYC grand final on 5 October.

Junior Kangaroos train-on squad: Josh Chudleigh (Cowboys), Patrick Kaufusi (Cowboys), Andy Saunders (Panthers), Chris Smith (Panthers), Kieran Moseley (Panthers), Isaah Yeo (Panthers), Waqa Blake (Panthers), Tevita Pangai (Raiders), Luke Bateman (Raiders), Patrick Mago (Raiders), Clint Gutherson (Sea Eagles), Valentine Holmes (Sharks), Cameron Munster (Storm).
