North Queensland golfing superstar Karrie Webb has upgraded her support of the Toyota Cowboys by becoming a member for the 2014 season.

A Cowboys fan since the club joined the competition in 1995, Karrie has joined the Stampede as a Star member, helping North Queensland’s membership tally close in on the 10,000 mark.

Karrie spends most of her year playing on the LPGA Tour in the United States and picked up her membership pack this week when she headed home to see her family in Ayr, an hour’s drive south of Cowboys HQ.

“The Cowboys are definitely my team,” Australia’s most successful female golfer said.

“I keep a check on how we’re doing when I’m over in the States and I have a feeling this is going to be our year. I’m definitely wishing them all the best.

“They’ve done really well to make the finals three years in a row, especially their late charge last year when just about everyone counted them out, and now we just need to take that next step.

“I love the membership pack and I’ll be showing my Cowboys colours with pride during the year.

“One day when I slow down from playing, I’ll be home at the right time of the year to go to some games.”

The winner of seven majors and a member of the LPGA’s Hall of Fame, Karrie is also a big fan of the Miami Dolphins in the NFL.

“It’d be great if we could get the Cowboys and Dolphins together some time,” she said.

“I love my football and that would be a dream for me.”
