The 2014 Toyota Cowboys have come together for the first time after their final Rugby League World Cup representatives returned to training today.

Kangaroos trio Matt Scott, Johnathan Thurston and Brent Tate had a busy day one of official pre-season training, starting off with a conditioning session in the morning followed by weights in the Cowboys gym early afternoon and the team poster photo shoot later in the day.

They were given extra time off from training after not finishing their World Cup commitments with Australia until early last month.

The full Cowboys squad will have their first on-field session under new head coach Paul Green at 1300SMILES Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Fullback Hezron Murgha, who is still undergoing rehab following an ACL rupture, is set to be the only absentee with the first trial game now less than four weeks away.

We’ll have photos from training and an interview with Matt Scott later in the week on cowboys.com.au!
