For one lucky member the excitement of our final game of the season turned into a money-can’t buy experience last week.
After casting his vote in the NRL Members Player of the Year competition, Gold Star full season member, Chris Isepy won the exclusive opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at our Captain’s Run and present the Members Player of the year trophy.
Joined by his wife, Mel, Chris watched from the sidelines of Queensland Country Bank Stadium before stepping onto the field to award this year’s honour – a surprise to Tom Dearden who received the most votes in 2025.
The award recognises the player who embodies the spirit, determination and pride that members value most, making it a fitting honour to be presented by those who support the team week in, week out.
Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said the moment captured the special connection between the club and its members.
“Our members are the lifeblood of the Cowboys, and by giving them opportunities like this is our way of saying thank you,” Reibel said.
“Having one of our own members present the Members’ Player of the Year trophy is a powerful reminder of what this proud community-owned club stands for.”
For Chris and his wife, the day was nothing short of unforgettable.
“Being able to see the players prepare in the Captain’s Run and then present the trophy is something I’ll never forget.”
