The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys will farewell seven players at tonight’s Presentation Night at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre.
Veteran prop Jordan McLean announced his retirement last week after a stellar 242-game NRL career.
McLean played 156 games, the 17th most in club history, in Cowboys colours after joining North Queensland in 2018 from the Melbourne Storm.
Reece Robson departs the club after signing with the Sydney Roosters for 2026 and beyond.
Robson played in 131 games for the Cowboys across six seasons after moving north prior to the 2020 season.
Semi Valemei will move to the UK Super League after three seasons in North Queensland.
Valemei scored eight tries in 17 games for the Cowboys since joining mid-way through the 2023 season.
Tom Duffy, Jamal Shibasaki, Emarly Bitungane and Nic Lenaz will also depart the club.
Duffy appeared in six games after making his debut at halfback in Round 1 of this season.
Shibasaki made his NRL debut as an 18-year-old in 2024 alongside fellow teenager Jaxon Purdue in a stunning win against the Roosters. He would play one further game in the top grade in 2025.
Bitungane became just the third player of African heritage to play in the NRL when he made his debut about the Sharks in Round 22. He would also play the following week against Parramatta.
Lenaz registered one NRL game, in Round 23 against the Eels, after joining the Cowboys on a Train and Replacement deal in the pre-season.
