Dearden awarded back-to-back Paul Bowman Medals

Tom Dearden has claimed his second successive Paul Bowman Medal at tonight’s North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Presentation night.

Dearden becomes just the fourth player in club history to win consecutive Cowboys Player of the Year awards, following in the footsteps of Bowman (1999-2000), Johnathan Thurston (2014-15) and Jason Taumalolo (2016-2020).

The Cowboys co-captain finished on 22 points, four in front of prop Coen Hess, who produced a brilliant return season from an ACL injury.

There was a three-way tie for third place on 12 points between Jaxon Purdue, Jason Taumalolo and Reuben Cotter.

In 22 games this season, Dearden registered 14 try assists, 18 line-break assists and scored nine of his own.

Dearden’s Paul Bowman Medal caps off a magnificent 2025 season, which also saw him claim the Wally Lewis Medal for Player of the State of Origin series.
