North Queensland Toyota Cowboys XXXX Derby double header is officially a sell-out!
With less than 24 hours before kick-off, all tickets and memberships for the highly anticipated XXXX Derby double header have sold out, showcasing a tremendous show of support from the North Queensland community.
For the first time in history, both the Cowboys NRLW and NRL teams will grace the field at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on the same day. The action-packed day will begin at 12.50 pm with the inaugural home game for the women's team, who are riding high after their maiden victory in the NRLW. This will be followed by the NRL kick-off at 3.00 pm.
Members and fans are encouraged to arrive at the venue from 12.00 pm when the gates open to ensure they don’t miss either kick-offs!
In recognition of the conclusion the Australian Defence Forces’ Exercise Talisman Sabre, 40 representatives from the 13 participating countries will form a guard of honour for the first-half run-on of both the Cowboys NRLW and NRL games. These representatives will be accompanied by eight Vietnam War veterans to help commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the war. To round out the festivities, from 12.10pm, the fan favourite 1RAR Band will perform live for the crowd on the Northern Concourse!
Excitement awaits the whole family with various activities, including FREE face painting, glitter tattoos, Army vehicle displays, and so much more available around the grounds.
Additionally, spectators can enjoy on-field entertainment such as Toyota Hilux Kick, BMD Team Talk, and live a performance by the Cowboys Spirit, all leading up to the Catch a Cowboy semi-final during NRL half time.
During the Catch a Cowboy semi-final, the top three runners from the past 10 home games will compete for a chance to Catch a Cowboy at the last NRL home game of the regular season. The lucky winner will have the opportunity to race Valentines Holmes LED at the Cowboys v Sharks game on Thursday 17 August for their chance to win a brand-new Toyota, courtesy of Toyota and the North Queensland Toyota Dealers.
The excitement doesn't end at full-time! Fans can kick on at the official post-game function at the Cowboys Leagues Club, where both Cowboys teams and their coaches will announce the players of the match. Attendees also have a chance to win a signed jersey!
