Cowboys fans light up and rise up for Preliminary Final

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys territory is awash with blue and grey in support of the squad as the prepare for our first home NRL Preliminary Final in Townsville on Friday.

Ahead of Friday night’s decider against the Eels, Cowboys colours will fly high and light up the sky from Torres Strait to Tasmania.

Kicking off the week, fans and members responded in force to the Cowboys call to ‘paint the town blue and grey’ by displaying their memorabilia, flags, streamers and signs at their homes and workplaces.

The lights of Queensland Country Bank Stadium have also burned blue and gold throughout the week to count down the days until the historic match.

The stadium lights will be joined tonight by the Townsville sign, boardwalks, bridges and buildings in the CBD, illuminated in blue and gold to support the squad.

On Friday night, the spectacular lightshow will culminate in Townsville icon Castle Hill being turned blue and gold in glittering Cowboys colours to serve as a Cowboys beacon overlooking Cleveland Bay. You can catch a sneak peek Wednesday 21 September as well.

The Cowboys extend our thanks to Townsville City Council and Stadiums Queensland for supporting this initiative.
