Cowboys General Manager Football, Micheal Luck said the Cowboys’ Queensland Rugby League Women’s (QRLW) side were on the cusp of a ground-breaking season, during which Aon would play a considerable supporting role.

“To acknowledge their support of the Cowboys and our QRLW Gold Stars as a Community Partner in 2022, the Aon logo will appear on the left sleeve of the Gold Stars jersey for all matches played in their competition this year,” Mr Luck said.

“Having first backed the club in 2019, we’re thrilled Aon have continued their investment in the Cowboys as a Cowboys Community Partner, supporting us in our efforts to deliver education and career pathways for young rugby league talent.”

Alison Smith, Aon Head of National said the partnership was one example of Aon’s commitment to partnering with organisations who share a focus on diversity and inclusion, community and excellence.

"Aon exists to shape decisions for the better, protecting and enriching the lives of people around the world while providing clients in over 120 countries with advice and solutions that give them the clarity and confidence to make better decisions to protect and grow their business,” Ms Smith said.

“Similarly, the Cowboys work throughout northern Australia to deliver education and elite sporting career pathways for regional Queenslanders,” she said.

“We’re looking forward to continuing this fruitful partnership with the Gold Stars as a focus, and as the Cowboy’s progress their bid for a NRLW team in 2023.”

“Another exciting element of our collaborative effort to promote women’s elite sport, Aon and the Cowboys will soon release a series documenting the journeys of Gold Star players from amateur level to the QRLW competition,” Ms Smith said.

Aon will join a host of partners on the inaugural collection of Gold Stars merchandise in 2022, including: Toyota, Bundaberg Rum, Westfund Health Insurance, Townsville City Council, Cairns Regional Council and Mackay Regional Council.

Gold Star jerseys, polos and training t-shirts are now available from the Cowboys Team Shop.
