Cowboys and Toyota to saddle up for 22 seasons

At today’s North Queensland Toyota Cowboys 2022 season launch, Toyota and the North Queensland Toyota Dealers announced a three-year extension to their longstanding principal partnership with the club.

After Cowboys Chief Executive Officer Jeff Reibel paid homage to one of the longest major partnerships in Australian sport, Sean Hanley, Vice President Sales, Marketing & Franchise Operations for Toyota, took to the stage in front of a full-house at the Townsville Entertainment Centre to share the news that the club and Toyota would continue to ride together beyond their 20th season.

“What we’ve developed over the years is a true partnership – a collaborative relationship where both parties are committed to inspiring progress and making meaningful impacts with our communities,” Mr Hanley said while confirming the agreement would continue until at least the end of the 2024 season.

Celebrating our 20th season riding together

“Our association extends beyond the elite level, ensuring a strong focus on the region’s rugby league fans who are the lifeblood of this great game and who display a passion for the game unlike anywhere else in the country.

Mr Reibel said the partnership had developed into a friendship after beginning in 2003 and would now rank as the longest running principal partnership for an Australian-based NRL team.

“The club’s partnership with Toyota and the North Queensland dealer network is truly unique in its longevity, and we are so fortunate to work alongside such a formidable organisation that shares our values of enriching the lives of the various communities of North Queensland,” Mr Reibel said.

“The partnership and friendship we have built with Toyota has been instrumental in helping make our club successful, and most importantly, a proud cornerstone of the regional community and economy.”

Toyota will continue as the Presenting Partner of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys NRL team, as well as the QRLW Gold Stars and men’s and women’s Cowboys academy. They will also continue their relationship with the Cowboys Community Foundation including supporting NRL Cowboys House.
