2019 player review: Peter Hola

Few North Queensland Toyota Cowboys fans would have heard of the name Peter Hola prior to the 2019 season – they have now.

Hola emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in rugby league after a standout season for the Northern Pride in the Queensland Cup earned him an NRL debut late in the year.

The 20-year-old middle forward was a nightmare for opposition defences during his time with the Pride, averaging 123 running metres and three tackle breaks a game.

2019 season highlights: Peter Hola

He was nominated for Queensland Cup Rookie of the Year alongside fellow Cowboys Tom Gilbert and Reuben Cotter.

Hola was handed an NRL debut in the XXXX Derby clash with Brisbane in Round 21 and remained in the side for the remainder of the season.
