Cowboys duo help Blackhawks to stunning win

North Queensland duo Tom Gilbert and Corey Jensen have helped the Toyota Cowboys feeder club the Townsville Blackhawks to a remarkable 20-12 win over the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Qualifying Final of the Queensland Cup.

Prop Corey Jensen, who last week signed a two-year contract extension with the Cowboys, led the Blackhawks forwards with 104 running metres, including 39-post contact metres.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old lock Tom Gilbert made three tackle breaks and ran for 103 metres in the eight-point win at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

The win means the Blackhawks will host a Preliminary Final in a fortnight's time at Jack Manski Oval, and will face the winner of this weekend's playoff between Wynnum Manly Seagulls and the Redcliffe Dolphins.
