Taumalolo sets new career-high

Another week, another almost unbelievable stat line from North Queensland Toyota Cowboys lock Jason Taumalolo.

The Tongan superstar ran for a career-high 311 metres in a mesmerising 80-minute performance at 1300SMILES Stadium.

Taumalolo also registered four tackle breaks, four offloads and 28 tackles in the heartbreaking loss to Manly.

Following his Round 13 feats, Taumalolo is now averaging an astronomical 212 running metres per game – 32 more than any other player in the NRL.

The 26-year-old was again named Tropic Petroleum Man of the Match at post-match presentations at Cowboys Leagues Club.

“This guy just keeps producing week in, week out. He’s a hell of a player and he ran for 300 plus metres again,” Cowboys head coach Paul Green said.

“He gets us on the front foot and given we had a couple of injuries he ended up playing 80 minutes again and that was Jason Taumalolo.”
