Free JRL clinics in Ingham and Ayr

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys legend Ray Thompson will be in Ingham tomorrow (30 May) and Ayr (6 June) to host free clinics for local junior rugby league players.

Thompson and the Cowboys game development team will take youngsters aged 8 to 12 through their paces in the clinics, run in partnership with Wilmar.

“It’s great to be involved in grassroots rugby league, especially when it’s in regional North Queensland,” Thompson said.

Wilmar Community Relations Manager Kylie Newman said it was the second year that the clinics had been run for juniors in the Herbert and Burdekin regions.

“We’re providing the clinics as part of our community partnership with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys,” Mrs Newman said.

“It’s great to be able to bring the Cowboys game development team to our milling regions, where there are a lot of loyal footy fans.

“We had a great response to last year’s clinics and we’d love to see a similar turnout this year.”

The clinics will be followed by a fundraising barbecue, sponsored by Wilmar.
