Cowboys duo strong in Qld Residents win

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys duo Corey Jensen and Tom Gilbert helped guide the Queensland Residents to a convincing 42-22 victory over the NSW Residents on Sunday afternoon.

Jensen, who was named Queensland vice-captain earlier this week, scored a try, ran for 136 metres and made four tackle breaks in the 20-point win at Dolphin Stadium.

In just his first season in the Queensland Cup, 18-year-old Gilbert ran for 132 metres and made 22 tackles in 37 minutes of game time.

The QRL competitions return to action this weekend, with Northern Pride playing host to the second-placed Burleigh Bears at Barlow Park on Saturday night (6:00pm).

Meanwhile, the Mackay Cutters travel to Bishop Park to battle with Norths Devils on Saturday night (6:00pm), while the Blackhawks take on the undefeated Sunshine Coast Falcons at Jack Manski Oval on Sunday afternoon (1:10pm).
