2019 match-up v Bulldogs

Cowboys v Bulldogs

Round 6, Friday, April 26, ANZ Stadium
Round 24, Thursday, August 29, 1300SMILES Stadium

Looking ahead: The Cowboys play the second of two away games in just six days when they travel to Sydney to tackle the Bulldogs in Round 6, but it's the other fixture between the two sides that will attract significant fanfare. The Cowboys will farewell 1300SMILES Stadium after 25 seasons at the end of 2019, with the Bulldogs clash in Round 24 set to be the last ever regular season game played at the only home ground the North Queensland club has ever known.

Bulldogs' changes: The Bulldogs have undergone a roster overhaul over the off-season. Veterans Josh and Brett Morris and Greg Eastwood have moved on, while Matt Frawley, Clay Preist and Asipele Fine have been released. Former Knights young guns Nick Meaney and Jack Cogger join Panthers duo Corey Harawira-Naera and Christian Crichton and Tigers' prop Sauaso Sue as the club's main recruits.

'Tatey says': I like what they've done in terms of recruiting and they finished the year well, but I can't imagine them being a real force in 2019. They are in a rebuilding phase and that's going to take time. If they lose David Klemmer like has been reported it's going to make things even tougher.

Looking back: The two sides met once in the 2018 season, with the Bulldogs pulling off a shock 27-10 victory at 1300SMILES Stadium in Round 5.
