Claire is a sport-loving high school teacher, touch football player and coach, and full-season member of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys who has enjoyed 'every single win over the Broncos.'
Claire recounts her favourite Cowboys memory as taking home a Cowboys v Broncos win, including the 2015 Grand Final.
"I was so confident in 2015 after a massive win in June that during the walk back to the car we purchased our tickets to the Grand Final in Sydney because we were so confident we would win."
Claire became a Gold Star member in 2015 and recently renewed for the 2019 season, meaning she has her spot in the Eastern grandstand locked in for all home games.
The 2019 season draw reveals two XXXX Derbies against the Broncos to look forward – Round 2 (Suncorp Stadium), Round 21 (1300SMILES Stadium).
Claire attributes her 'obsession' with the Cowboys to her dad, watching every game with him growing up.
She described an example of how 'father-daughter' time played out: "In 2005, when we made the grand final for the first time, Dad and I decorated the house in Cowboys colours".
Claire now cheers on the team 'loudly' and on her feet with her friends at 1300SMILES Stadium.
"My friends have learned to keep their drinks away from me because it is highly likely that I will knock them over in the event of a try, a runaway, a good tackle... any time really!"
Claire's passion for the game is inspired by what she describes as 'gut and determination' displayed by the Cowboys.
"Even when the boys are losing they don't drop their head. We can come back at any time. We are always dangerous."
She's also a fan of the Rolling Renewal program that allowed her to automatically renew her membership: "It is hassle-free to get the same seats again".
Looking forward, Claire can't wait for the new recruits next year to play their part and add some 'spice'.
"Our weekend activities are sorted at the start of the year, and because it's already paid for, it feels like a free activity!"
