New halves partner for JT's last game

Retiring North Queensland Toyota Cowboys legend Johnathan Thurston will have a new halves partner for the final game of his storied rugby league career against the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday afternoon.

Te Maire Martin, who missed last weekend's victory over Parramatta with an ankle injury, returns to the No.6 jersey after spending the majority of the back half of the season at fullback.

Young gun Jake Clifford reverts to the reserves, allowing him to suit up for Cowboys feeder club the Northern Pride in the first week of the Queensland Cup finals.

Ben Hampton retains his place at fullback after a brilliant two-try performance against the Eels in Round 24.

Shaun Fensom returns to the interchange for his first appearance since Round 21 and is joined on the bench by Ethan Lowe, John Asiata and Scott Bolton.

Clifford is joined on the reserves by forwards Francis Molo and Shane Wright as well as outside back Javid Bowen.

Saturday's game has been declared a sell-out by the Gold Coast Titans.
