Long-time Cowboys member and self-confessed Maroons 'tragic' Chris Myles is a Townsville local who has been behind the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys since 1995.
Chris recently won a signed 2018 Cowboys jersey and 2018 Maroons Jersey by joining the club as a dual Cowboys Maroons member. Add this to Chris's current Gold membership and it's fair to say that he's well-deserving of the prize.
Chris first joined as a member of the club in the same year the Cowboys entered the National Rugby League competition, a move which brought pride and identity to the north of the state.
This is something Chis acknowledges when talking of the Cowboys, "it's good for the region and for the north – we need these sorts of things up here."
Chris shared his love of the game and his club when collecting his competition prize. "I don't think there's too many better nights out than coming to watch the football."
As a Gold member he has tickets to all 12 home games, which he watches from the Northern grandstand at 1300SMILES Stadium.
"I go along with my father and we pretty much go along as often as we can, we don't miss too many games. We enjoy our football and it's a bit of a bonus winning the jersey."
For Chris, going to a game is his way of spending time with family.
"I probably wouldn't spend as much time with my dad if I wasn't coming to the football, so that's an extra bonus, and the rest of my family come as well. When the kids were young we originally had family tickets and we all enjoyed it and now they come on the odd occasion. It's a good way for us all to interact, and we all enjoy it."
After joining at the age of 29 Chris, now 52, said he will always support the Cowboys.
"When the Cowboys win it's pretty good, but the main thing is that they have a go and there's not too many times we go away disappointed, even with a loss."
Don't miss out on all the benefits of being a 2018 Cowboys member!
