North Queensland Toyota Cowboys forward Jason Taumalolo says he's looking forward to this Saturday's preliminary final and the match-up with Roosters' pack leader Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

"I think we'll find out Saturday night," Taumalolo said, when asked about tough talk on neutralising him to dominate a Cowboys side on a two-game finals roll.

"It's one thing saying it, it's another doing it on the field.

"Obviously he's [Waerea-Hargreaves] put some accountability on himself to try to single me out, but that only puts pressure on himself.

"I'm looking forward to the battle."

The Cowboys played the Roosters just once in the 2017 regular series, defeated 22-16 at Allianz Stadium, and will be looking to turn the tables on that Round 21 result to book their place in their second NRL grand final in three years.

Saturday night's game kicks off at 7.40pm at Allianz Stadium.
