Youngsters vying for Round 1 selection, combined with NRL squad members looking to impress, will join forces as a composite top squad/Under-20s North Queensland Toyota Cowboys team takes on the Townsville Blackhawks at Jack Manski Oval tonight.
The Aaron Payne/Josh Hannay Cowboys Composite outfit includes those fit NRL squad members not selected to take on the Tigers at Campbelltown, alongside the game’s future stars, as Cowboys National Youth Competition coach Payne fine-tunes his Round 1 team after two successful trials against the Northern Pride and the Mackay Cutters.
The Blackhawks teams include Cowboys NRL squad members Kyle Laybutt and Corey Jensen.
Tonight’s match kicks off at 7pm, and will be preceded by a Blackhawks/Cowboys Under-20s combined side taking on Townsville club team Western Lions from 5.30pm.
