Ronald McDonald House North Queensland (RMHNQ) has a new face to assist in its important work in helping seriously ill children and their families from north and north-west Queensland when they need it most.

North Queensland Toyota Cowboys fullback Lachlan Coote was unveiled as RMHNQ's ambassador at a morning tea on Thursday also attended by Cowboys and RMHNQ major sponsors Shine Lawyers and Westfund Health.

Ronald McDonald House North Queensland provides accommodation to over 400 families per year with a ‘home away from home’ while their child is seriously ill in the Townsville Hospital.

"Our relationship with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys has grown over the years and we are proud to announce that Lachlan will be our new ambassador to the House," RMHNQ Board Chair Paul Rissman said.

"Families staying at RMHNQ come from all areas of the northern region and many are great supporters of the Cowboys.

"It will be fantastic to have Lachlan involved in promoting the charity and helping to create further awareness of all of our programs available to the community."

Ronald McDonald House North Queensland has provided accommodation for over 3,000 families of seriously ill children since 2004, and is situated on the Townsville Hospital Campus adjacent to the Pediatric Ward and Neonatal Intensive Care Ward.
