Lachlan Coote will make his long-awaited debut for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys at fullback against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Coach Paul Green has named the 24-year-old at one, with Michael Morgan moving to five-eighth, at the expense of Robert Lui, who will play Intrust Super Cup for the Townsville Blackhawks.

Despite suffering a concussion in last weekend’s loss to the Knights, Justin O’Neill has been named in the run-on side, while Kyle Feldt has retained his spot on the left wing.

In a week where he became a father for the second time, Johnathan Thurston will combine with Morgan in the halves against their state rivals.

The forward pack remains the same with Matt Scott leading their charge against the likes of Queensland teammate Corey Parker.

John Asiata will be 18th man.
