Test and Origin forward James Tamou has been promoted to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys’ starting pack for the elimination final against Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium tonight.

Originally named on the interchange bench on Tuesday, Tamou takes over Tariq Sims’s starting role after he copped a five-week suspension following last week’s victory against Brisbane at 1300SMILES Stadium.

Glenn Hall will drop back to the reserves’ bench along with Ethan Lowe, who is the new face in the Cowboys’ squad of 17.

It will be Lowe’s first NRL appearance since round 23 and his 10th overall in the 2014 season.

Tonight’s winner will remain alive in the 2014 premiership and face South Sydney in a preliminary final at ANZ Stadium next Friday.

Kick off will be at 7.58pm.
