Back-rower Tariq Sims will return from a one-game suspension when the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys face South Sydney in round 24 of the NRL at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.

Coach Paul Green has named Sims in his starting forward pack with Gavin Cooper reverting to an interchange bench role.

Ethan Lowe has been omitted from the team that lost 23-22 to Penrith on Monday night but will remain in camp with his teammates in Sydney.

The Cowboys dropped to seventh place on the NRL ladder after losing for the first time in five weeks, while the Rabbitohs, who were beaten by North Queensland in Townsville in round 16, are on a five-match winning streak that has taken them to second place.

North Queensland’s last visit to ANZ Stadium resulted in a 20-12 victory against Canterbury in round 20.
