Townsville Stingers' national title-winning duo Cooper Bambling and Coen Hess will be back on NYC duty for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys against Canberra on Sunday.

After being part of a memorable win against the Roosters’ in the under-18s last Saturday, Bambling returns at halfback for the under-20s in place of Dan Clarke, who will shift to the interchange bench, while Hess will start in the second-row, replacing Bill Cullen who has been sidelined by a hip injury.

Conor Carey has been recalled to play in the centres, taking over from Samsen O’Neill, while Alex Grant, who has been at fullback over the opening 10 rounds, will be the new No.6, replacing Delayne Ashby.

Yamba Bowie’s impressive two-try debut off the bench against the Sydney Roosters last Saturday night has earned him a run-on start at fullback.

In a reshuffled pack, Viliame Kikau and Michael Barclay are the new starting props, pushing David Munro to lock and Jack Brock to the bench.

The Cowboys are desperate to end a three-match losing streak that has dropped them to 14th place, four points adrift of the top eight.
