Simply run the length of the Queensland Country Bank Stadium field faster than our Cowboy and you’re in the running to win a brand new set of wheels!
How it works:
- 1 lucky supporter will be selected to participate in the Catch a Cowboy race at half-time of the first 10 home games during the ’23 NRL Premiership season.
- Each participant will test their speed up against a video of Valentine Holmes running on the LED screens.
- The fastest three runners will then go head-to-head during the half-time show at the Saturday 5 August, Cowboys v Broncos match.
- The winner from the Cowboys v Broncos Catch a Cowboy activation will then re-race the LED Valentine Holmes and if they Catch a Cowboy they will win a brand-new Toyota Corolla!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CATCH-A-COWBOY COMPETITION 2023
The Promoter is Cowboys Rugby League Football Limited, the Hutchinson Builders Centre, 26 Graham Murray Place, Railway Estate QLD 4810. ABN: 28 060 382 961.
These terms and conditions apply to the 2023 Catch-A-Cowboy competition, including the process we will use to select a grand prize winner.
In these terms and conditions, we will refer to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys as ‘the Cowboys’, ‘us’, ‘we and ‘our’. We will refer to a promotion participant as a ‘competitor’, ‘participant’, ‘you’ and ‘your’.
We will refer to the 2023 Catch-a-Cowboy competition as ‘the promotion’ and ‘the competition’.
By participating in this promotion, you acknowledge and agree that you have read and understood these terms and conditions.
Nothing in these terms and conditions amends, limits or excludes any rights or remedies that you may have under the Australian Consumer Law which cannot lawfully be amended, limited or excluded.
Promotion details
1. The Promotion commences at 12.00pm Thursday, 23 February 2023 and closes at 9.00pm, Thursday, 17 August 2023.
2. The Promotion comprises competitors ‘racing’ a digital recording of Valentine Holmes at half time at a Cowboys home game at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
3. The digital recording of Valentine Holmes will be displayed on a LED screen extending the full length of the playing field.
4. The recording will accurately depict Valentine Holmes running at his fastest recorded pace, with no digital enhancements made to the recording to increase or decrease its pace.
5. For home games 1-10, one competitor will be pre-selected to ‘race’ the video recording.
6. Every competitor for home games 1-10 who can run the length of the field faster than the recording of Valentine Holmes will have been deemed successful in ‘catching a cowboy’ and will win a minor prize.
7. Following home games 1-10, the top three fastest competitors will be invited to participate in a foot race on the field at home game 11.
8. The competitor who wins the foot race at the home game 11 race will be invited to home game 12 to again ‘race’ the recording of Valentine Holmes on the LED screen at field level.
9. If the competitor at home game 12 runs the length of the field faster than the recording of Valentine Holmes, the competitor will have been deemed successful in ‘catching a cowboy’ and will win the grand prize.
Judging
10. The competition will be adjudicated at each home game by a third party (who is not an employee or contractor of the Cowboys).
11. The position of Adjudicator may be held by a different person at each home game or stage of the competition, provided they are an appropriate third party.
12. The Adjudicator will determine if a competitor has been successful in ‘catching a cowboy’ at home games 1-10 and 12 and winning the foot face at home game 11.
13. An Adjudicator will witness the recording of race times for each competitor so that the top three fastest competitors may be selected for the foot race on the field at home game 11.
14. The Adjudicator’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into on the result of each race.
Prize pool
15. The grand prize is a new 2022 Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport Hatchback.
16. The grand prize will be transferred to the winner within 14 business days following home game 12 on 17 August 2023.
17. The minor prize for each of home games 1-10 is a 2023 Cowboys jersey, valued at $550.
18. Minor prizes will be handed to each winner immediately following their participation at the home game.
19. Competitors who cannot ‘catch a cowboy’ at home games 1-10 will be awarded a consolation prize of a Cowboys merchandise pack, valued at $132.
20. Consolation prizes will be handed to each competitor immediately following their participation at the home game.
21. Competitors who record the top three fastest times from all times recorded at home games 1 – 10 will each receive a double pass to the Eastern Grandstand at home game 11, Cowboys v Broncos on Saturday, 5 August 2023 (valued at $132).
22. The fastest competitor from the home game 11 foot race will receive a double pass to the Eastern Grandstand at home game 12, Cowboys v Sharks on Saturday, 17 August 2023 (valued at $132).
23. Any prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. The Cowboys accept no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Cowboys make no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability, or merchantability of the prizes.
24. The Cowboys is not responsible for any liability, loss or damage arising out of the use or enjoyment of the grand prize.
25. The grand prize winner indemnifies the Cowboys against any liability, loss or damage arising out of the use or enjoyment of the grand prize.
Promotion eligibility
26. Competitors must be aged 18 years or over as at 23 February 2023, to enter.
27. To enter, competitors must submit an entry form at www.cowboys.com.au/game-day-guide/catch-a-cowboy/
28. Cowboys 2023 consumer members, corporate members and fans (the public) may enter the draw to be selected for the race.
29. As a condition of entry, you must agree to receive offers and news from the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys delivered to your inbox in accordance with the club’s privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
30. To be eligible, the competitor must hold (or subsequently purchase) a ticket to the home game for which they’ve been selected. A ticket may include a match ticket or ticketed membership.
31. If the competitor does not obtain a ticket to the game, they agree to forfeit their position in the competition.
32. Any travel, accommodation or out-of-pocket costs accrued by participants to compete in the Promotion will be at their own expense.
Competition selection and forfeiture
33. A competitor will be drawn randomly from all eligible entry forms two business days before each home game for home games 1-10.
34. Entry forms that are not drawn for a home game will be carried over for selection for the next home game until home game 10.
35. The competitor drawn for each home game will be contacted by phone two business days before that game to confirm they have been selected. If the competitor is not contactable, they will forfeit their selection for that game.
36. If the competitor cannot confirm their ability to participate at the time of our call, they will forfeit their selection for that game.
37. If a competitor is not contactable or cannot confirm their ability to participate, their entry form will be returned to the pool of eligible entries for future games.
38. If an entry form is returned to the pool of entries, there is no guarantee that the entrant will again be randomly selected to compete in the promotion at future home games.
39. If a competitor forfeits their position in the competition for any reason, another competitor will be randomly drawn from eligible entries if time allows.
40. If a competitor forfeits after gates open on the day of their game, the Cowboys reserves the right to select a competitor from outside of the entry pool (i.e. a member of the public) to ensure the competition can proceed at half time.
41. On game day, the competitor must arrive 1 hour before kick-off to meet their Cowboys contact. If this does not happen, the competitor will be disqualified from the promotion, and the Cowboys will draw another entrant from the entry pool or the crowd. Only competitors who run will be eligible for a consolation prize or a minor prize.
Promotion requirements
42. The Promotion will require the competitor to run the length of the field on potentially uneven turf, at full stride.
43. Unless excluded by law, Cowboys shall not be liable for any loss, injury, death, or damage to persons or property which at any time may be suffered or sustained by the competitor taking part in the Promotion.
44. By entering this Promotion, you acknowledge and agree that you accept this risk.
45. If you are selected as a competitor in the Promotion but cannot participate for ANY reason, you may choose to either nominate a replacement competitor OR forfeit your position in the competition.
46. If you nominate a replacement, that person will take your place as the official competitor in the Promotion and will assume all rights and obligations of any other competitor, including ownership of any prizes won due to their participation. If you nominate a replacement you cannot return to the competition at a later stage if your circumstances change.
47. If you nominate a replacement, the Cowboys accepts no liability for disputes arising between you and the competitor over their participation in the Promotion or ownership of prizes.
Claiming Prize Requirements
48. For the winner to claim the grand prize, the winner must provide their IR or current drivers licence at the Townsville Toyota Dealer (unless otherwise advised by the Cowboys).
49. Have their photo/vision captured with the grand prize for use on Cowboys media channels.
General terms
50. We may cancel part or all of Promotion if an event outside our reasonable control occurs that impacts or may impact on the relevant Promotion including, but not limited to, fire, storm, flood, tsunami, earthquake, explosion, war, invasion, rebellion, sabotage, epidemic, pandemic (including the Covid-19 pandemic), government intervention or orders (whether mandatory or recommended), labour dispute, labour shortage, failure or delay in transportation and act or omission of any third person (including the NRL, subcontractors, customers, governments or government agencies) (each such event a “Force Majeure Event”).
51. If a Force Majeure Event occurs that affects the Promotion, or the ability for it to be held, we will use reasonable endeavours to notify you. However, this may be impossible if the event is sudden or last-minute. While we do not offer compensation for cancelled promotions in whole or in part due to Force Majeure Events, before or after the Force Majeure Event occurs, we will contact you about whether the affected Promotion will be rescheduled or what other options we may be able to offer to you.
52. All participants agree to the terms of entry of Queensland Country Bank Stadium as may be amended by the owner or operator of Queensland Country Bank Stadium from time to time. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel your participation in the Promotion if you breach the terms of entry of Queensland Country Bank Stadium, breach the Cowboys Members & Fans Code of Conduct or have been removed by security or police from Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Communication and privacy
53. The Cowboys’s primary means of communication is email. However, we may also need to contact you by phone or other methods about your participation in the Promotion. You must inform us of any changes to your contact details and make sure your contact details are complete and correct.
54. It is a condition of participation that you give your consent to the Cowboys its affiliates and agents, to use your image and likeness and/or any interview statements in our publications, advertising or other media activities (including the Internet), without compensation or other remuneration, now or in the future.
