Tough forward Francis Molo signed with the Cowboys on a one-year deal after linking with Queensland Cup team the Townsville Blackhawks during the team’s 2017 campaign.
Molo, 23, was part of the Brisbane Broncos’ 2014-15 NRL squads after a successful under-20s career at the club, which included selection in the Queensland under-20s team.
The young prop made his NRL debut in Round 11, 2014 against the West Tigers, and would go on to play a further six games the following year.
After leaving the Broncos ahead of the 2016 season, Molo continued to play for Broncos feeder team Norths in the Queensland Cup before making the move to Townsville in a bid to re-ignite his NRL career by catching the eye of Cowboys scouts.
That hard work was rewarded with an NRL squad contract, with Molo keen to repay the faith shown by the club in him.
After almost three years out of the top grade, Francis Molo fought his way back to the NRL in 2018 on the back of some sensational performances for Cowboys feeder club the Townsville Blackhawks in the Queensland Cup.
Molo made his Cowboys debut in Round 11 against South Sydney and made an instant impression with his high-octane style of play.
Molo re-signed with the Cowboys for the 2019 and 2020 seasons in June and will be hoping to become a regular in Green’s side next season.
